Dental Life Time Wellness Plans

Periodontal disease is a serious issue found in 85% of pets four years and older.  If left untreated, your pet can suffer from ill-effects such as: inflamed and painful gums, bad breath, bone loss, loose teeth, and other infections that can spread all over their bodies.
While non-anesthetic cleanings are gaining popularity, they require forcibly holding your pet down, in order to scrape their teeth only on the outer surface.  At West Ridge Animal Hospital we offer a different and better alternative by following the American Animal Hospital Association’s recommended procedure. Your pet will be anesthetized and we will take Dental Radiographs which are just as important for our pets as when you visit the dentist.  Anesthesia also eliminates the possibility of pain during a dental procedure, allowing for a much more thorough cleaning of the mouth, including subgingival scaling, and exa
mination of the surfaces of the teeth facing the tongue.
Very few veterinary hospitals in the area provide this level of care in their dental procedures. Complying with AAHA standards also means advanced monitoring of your pet while under anesthesia.  This includes: blood pressure monitoring, carbon dioxide and oxygen levels, and a constant EKG tracing or monitoring of the heart. Placing an intravenous catheter and providing fluids during the procedure are essential to the safety of your pet. This allows us the ability to treat low blood pressure, to administer drugs immediately intravenously, and to aid in the rapid removal of the anesthetic medications from the body if needed.

The Veterinarians and staff at West Ridge Animal Hospital believe in preventative wellness.  We advocate that a pet’s optimum wellness is achieved through routine examinations, vaccinations, good dental health, and continuing education as we learn more about your devoted and loving friend! West Ridge Animal hospital offers an easy budgeted payment option for those pet diagnosed with Dental Grades 1 or 2 in a convenient Dental Plan. West Ridge Animal Hospital understands the challenge of wanting to give your pet the best possible care and balancing real life financial concerns.  We have created our Lifetime Wellness Program as a way to achieve that balance.  A doctor will assess the health of your pet’s teeth and give them their dental grade ranging in 1-4.  The dental wellness package requires a $50 down payment and the first month’s payment upfront. If your pet is already enrolled into a Life Time Wellness Package, the dental down payment will be waived.
