May 2-8: National Pet Week
National Pet Week was established in 1981 by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Auxiliary to the AVMA. According to the PetWeek.org website, "The goals of National Pet Week are to promote responsible pet ownership, celebrate the human-animal bond, and promote public awareness of veterinary medicine." Check out the National Pet Week website for some helpful hints, inspiring stories, and fun games!
To help celebrate, Amazon's Armchair Commentary blog posts a list of essential pet flicks including Homeward Bound, Benji, and of course Old Yeller. Check out the list to find some great movies to cozy up on the couch with your companion and watch. Don't forget to pass the popcorn! (Light on the butter and no sugar-free sweetener please)
