Congratulations, Dr Colin Combs!
On April 9th, READY Colorado held “Celebrating People in Action”, a volunteer appreciation event recognizing individuals and organizations that have devoted their time, energy and leadership to disaster and emergency preparedness. Five members of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (CO VMRC) were honored for their efforts: Dr. Anthony Knight, Dr. Lisa Sabichi, Dr. Colin Combs, Dr. Nick Striegel and Dr. Jamie Gaynor. These veterinarians have volunteered countless hours in support of the CO VMRC and developing animal emergency response efforts in their communities and throughout Colorado. Deborah Colburn, Director of CVMF’s Animal Emergency Management Program, received special acknowledgement for her efforts to assist in the preparedness of Colorado citizens and their animal friends. READY Colorado is a public awareness campaign supported by public and private partners concerned with homeland security and all-hazards preparedness. Its goal is to raise awareness about the importance of disaster preparedness among Colorado Citizens.- Deborah Colburn, MPA
