Kennel Cough Outbreak Leads to Extra Precautions

Due to the recent outbreak of kennel cough in the Greeley area, the Sirius Fun and West Ridge Animal Hospital teams are taking some extra precautions.

Please notify a team member immediately if your 4 legged friend has visited any other facilities, such as a dog park, other daycares or another boarding facility.

Kennel cough is extremely contagious and if your furry friend has been at another facility we would like to request to please keep them at home for at least a week before returning to Sirius Fun or West Ridge's Purrs & Paws Lodge.

Just as we do with our 2 legged children we will need to ask you to please keep your furry friend at home if they are coughing, sneezing, or have any discharge from the nose. The cough can be like a dry hacking or sometimes choking sound. It can be triggered with just a slight amount of pressure on the trachea by a leash or collar or even just a small amount of activity and play.

We care very much for our furry friends and only want them to stay healthy and happy! We want Sirius Fun and Purrs & Paws Lodge to have healthy and fun atmospheres for all of our friends and this is why we are taking all of these precautions.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. We hope this round of kennel cough will fade quickly and we can all breathe easier (no pun intended) again!

Sincerely,

Your friends at Sirius Fun and West Ridge Animal Hospital
